The Penn State Alumni Association

What’s been happening:

I left Penn State in March 1965, worked at Phillips Petroleum R&D for six months, and started grad school at Carnegie Mellon. Milestones since then were: 1969 - Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon, started at Celanese Chemical R&D, and married Joanne. 1971 - First son, Brian. 1975 - Second son, Bill. 2003 - Packaged out from Celanese. It was a decent career, nearly all as a techie in R&D, with a little over a dozen patents. I got to work on some neat technologies with a bunch of exceptional nerds. 2003 - Started teaching chemical engineering at Texas A&M University Kingsville. Even though Celanese thought I was ready to retire, I disagreed. Working with the kids is a hoot. I'm helping create the next generation of exceptional nerds.
